The South Umpqua School District will begin their summer meal distribution program soon.

Greg Michaels has the details: “Greg3” Q: News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN

It is available to all children and teens aged 18 and younger. Adults may not eat any part of a child’s meal.  Each child will receive a meal that meets or exceeds USDA Meal pattern requirements. Look for the yellow Lunchbox Express summer food van.

Meals will be available Mondays through Thursday from June 22nd through August 13th at these times and locations:

*Stagecoach Apartments in Canyonville from 10:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

*Millsite Park in Myrtle Creek from 12:00 p.m. to 12:15 p.m.

*Myrtle Terrace Apartments from 12:20 p.m. to 12:40 p.m.

*Meadow Lark Apartments from 12:45 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

*South Umpqua High School from 1:05 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.

In the Riddle School District meals will be available at Riddle Park from 11:10 a.m. to 11:25 a.m.

The summer food program is part of USDA Food and Nutrition Service and is administered by the Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs. For more information on the South Umpqua School District summer meal distribution program, call 863-3115.
