DISTRICT TO PROVIDE FREE MEALS TO CHILDREN OVER SUMMER BREAK

Roseburg Schools is committed to ensuring students maintain access to nutritious meals when school is out of session.

A district release said as part of that commitment, it will provide free meals over summer break at select sites and through the Lunchbox Express van.

Meals will be offered from June 22nd through August 14th, except on July 3rd, and are available to all children ages 1 to 18 years old. All children are welcome and do not need to be students or residents within the school district. Children must be present to participate and will receive one breakfast and one lunch per child, per day.

Meals will be available Mondays through Fridays at these locations and times:

*Faith Lutheran Church on West Kenwood Street from 10:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

*Sunnyslope Elementary on Southwest Cannon Road from 11:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

*Thompson Park on Southeast Thompson Street from 11:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

*Eastwood Park on Southeast Douglas Avenue from 12:15 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

*Creekside Family Church on Newton Creek Road from 1:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

*Saddle Butte Mobile Manor on Saddle Butte Lane from 1:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Meals are also offered at select school sites from July 6th through July 30th.

At Green, Hucrest and Fir Grove Schools, breakfast is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. with lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Meals must be consumed on site.

Meals are also available at Joseph Lane Middle School and Roseburg High School at the same times, but do not have to be consumed on site.
