The Roseburg City Council will consider adopting the city’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year as part of its agenda on Monday night.
The total budget is just over $125.5 million. Estimated revenue from State Revenue Sharing is $230,000. The funds will be used to support General Fund services. The Budget Committee, made up of councilors and eight community members, already approved the budget amount.
Resolutions creating an Opioid Settlement Fund and eliminating the American Rescue Plan Act Fund and adopting the 2026 City of Roseburg Emergency Operations Plan will be voted on.
A number of other items are on the agenda.
Mayor Larry Rich will make a proclamation for 2SLGBTQIA + Pride Month. Councilors will consider making Police Chief Gary Klopfenstein City Manager Pro-Tem effective July 1st and until a new city manager is sworn into office. Klopfenstein would remain as police chief as well during the interim period and would be paid $16,657 per month. City Manager Nikki Messenger will retire at the end of June.
Following the council meeting, councilors will meet as the Urban Renewal Agency for the adoption of that budget.
