ROSEBURG POLICE CITE MAN FOR THIRD-DEGREE ESCAPE, SECOND-DEGREE DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Roseburg Police cited a man for third-degree escape and second-degree disorderly conduct following an incident on Thursday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 3:10 pm. officers responded to the 1200 block of Northwest Highland Street after a caller said a man was trespassing on the property and had been yelling for approximately four hours. Officers arrived and advised the 45-year-old that he was trespassed from the location.

The man reportedly became upset and threw his phone at the officer’s patrol vehicle. Officers told the man that he was under arrest and he then ran from officers to a nearby parking lot. Officers gave the suspect numerous warnings that a taser would be deployed if he did not comply. The man allegedly continued to ignore the officer’s requests and turned to run again. This time a taser was deployed.

The man was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported to corrections where he was unable to be lodged due to medical complications.
