ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR PRIOR THEFT AND ESCAPE INCIDENTS

Roseburg Police jailed a man on Wednesday evening for prior theft and escape incidents.

An RPD report said at 6:00 p.m. 34-year-old Geoffrey Shorey was contacted for a past theft that had allegedly occurred on June 1st. Shorey was identified as a suspect after he stole a pair of shoes from a business in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. The stolen property was recovered at the time of the arrest.

Shorey was also charged with a June 2nd incident in the 1000 block of Southeast Rice Avenue in Roseburg. After being told there was a warrant for his arrest, the man reportedly fled into the residence and then out the backdoor before other officers could arrive.

Shorey was charged with third-degree theft, third degree escape and for the warrant. Bail was set at $28,750.
