ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR WARRANT, CAMPING CHARGES

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant and camping charges on Sunday morning.

An RPD report said just before 9:00 a.m. officers contacted the 42-year-old at his camp which was set up along the bike path in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. His camp consisted of a small tent which was covered in a plastic tarp and various personal items. The camp was surrounded by a large amount of trash and rubbish including jugs urine, which detracted from the natural beaty of the area. The man was found to have four previous convictions for prohibited camping. He was also found to have a warrant for his arrest out of Roseburg Municipal Court.

The man was charged with the warrant, for prohibited camping and depositing trash within 100 yards of waters. Bail was set at $5,000.
