June will begin with afternoon high temperatures around ten degrees above normal in the Umpqua Valley.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that strong high pressure means warm air and highs in the mid to upper 80s for the next two days. Tuesday will be the warmest day, with a slight chance of getting to 90 degrees.
Cooling starts Wednesday with highs in the mid 70’s for much of the rest of the week. That is right at seasonal normal high temperatures which are between 74 and 77 degrees for this week in June.
The mercury reached 73 degrees on Sunday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
