THE FISH OF ROSEBURG CELEBRATES 55 YEARS AT ANNIVERSARY EVENT

May 11, 2026 3:30 a.m.

The FISH of Roseburg is celebrating 55 years of feeding the community with a special anniversary event on Friday, May 16th, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the FISH Food Pantry on Jerry’s Drive, just north of Roseburg.

A release from the non-profit said the milestone celebration will bring together community members, partners, and supporters for an afternoon of connection, gratitude and fun. A highlight of the event will be the unveiling of FISH’s new refrigerated van. It’s a critical addition that will expand the organization’s ability to safely transport and distribute fresh, nutritious food throughout Douglas County.

As part of this celebration, FISH is inviting the community to take part in a meaningful call to action. Attendees are asked to help fill the new van with food and hope. Donations collected during the event will directly support local families facing food insecurity.

Guests can enjoy:

*Hot dogs and hamburgers generously provided by the Salvation Army Canteen

*Live music by Erik Schnautz

*A Kids Zone hosted by FEATT Family Network

*Pantry tours and opportunities to learn more about FISH programs.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. the celebration will feature special remarks from community leaders, including Roseburg Mayor Larry Rich, followed by the official proclamation of “Food Security Stops Here Day”.

FISH Executive Director Jenn Reida said, “We are incredibly proud of 55 years of serving our community”. Reida said, “This event is about celebrating where we’ve been, but also looking forward – making sure we continue to meet the growing need in our community with dignity, compassion and partnership”

Rogue Credit Union is the sponsor of the event. Partners who made the refrigerated van possible include: First Interstate Bank, Umpqua Health Alliance, Coquille Tribal Community Fund, The Roundhouse Foundation and the Jerry Bruce Community Campus.
