Roseburg Police jailed a man for a charge of felony strangulation on Saturday night.

An RPD report said at 7:20 p.m. officers responded to the 1700 block of Northwest Eden Street for a report of an altercation between 39-year-old Jonathan Roberts and a juvenile. After an investigation, officers determined that during the disturbance Roberts had reportedly placed the victim in a chokehold which restricted his ability to breathe. Officers also determined that the incident took place in the immediate presence of two other juveniles inside the residence.

Roberts was taken into custody and transported to corrections. He was detained without bail.
