The 60th anniversary of the Glide Wildflower Show is happening soon.
The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. at the Glide Community Center. The event is open to photographers only each day at 8:00 a.m.
Founded in 1965, the show is the largest display of native flora in the northwest. Over 600 species of flowers, shrubs, grasses, ferns, lichens and mosses are gathered by the dozens of collection teams who travel throughout southwest Oregon from the Cascade mountains to the coast. Botanists and other experts will share information in special presentations each day. A guided wildflower walk will be offered each day at 2:00 p.m.
A $5 donation is suggested for those viewing the show.
