Special Districts Election Day is May 20th.
Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said Special Districts are a form of government created to fill a specific community need. Loomis said that it can include fire protection, education, water, sewer, parks & recreation, transportation, library and more.
Loomis has a list of dates voters should be aware of:
*April 4th: Military and overseas ballots will be mailed
*April 7th: Ballots will be available at the Clerk’s Office for voters leaving the area before the election
*April 21st: Ballots to those currently out of state will be mailed
*April 29th: Last day for voters in Special Districts to register to vote
*April 30th: Bulk mailing of the ballots
*May 20th: The Clerk’s Office will be open for Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
