Children ages 12 and under are invited to join Roseburg’s first Easter Egg Drop on the day before Easter and possibly catch a glimpse of the Easter Bunny.
A City of Roseburg release said Roseburg Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the Roseburg Fire Department to offer the free, family-friendly event at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19th at the Stewart Park softball field on Northwest Stewart Parkway.
Roseburg Fire personnel will drop 4,000 colorful empty plastic Easter eggs from a ladder truck in the field between the YMCA of Douglas County and Champion Car Wash Field, formerly known as Legion Field.
Kids will be challenged to collect one egg of each color to exchange for a prize or candy provided by Roseburg Parks, Roseburg Fire, Roseburg Public Library and local community partners such as the Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley, Cascade Community Credit Union, Umpqua Health Alliance and the YMCA.
Roseburg Recreation Coordinator Tracy David said, “We’re grateful for all of the donations and commitments from community organizations that make it possible to offer this event to kids for free”.
The Easter Bunny is expected to arrive aboard the Roseburg Fire Department’s 1934 Chevrolet antique fire engine to pose for photos with kids.
