A Yoncalla man was jailed for an alleged strangulation incident on Sunday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 8:00 p.m. a deputy responded to the 100 block of Birch Street. A victim had an injury to her neck area and legs. The victim stated that the 24-year-old had grabbed her by the throat and was trying to physically remove her from a vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody but was not cooperative. He was ultimately charged with strangulation and detained without bail.
