Effective at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, the Douglas Forest Protective Association’s Public Use Restrictions changed to low for all private, county, state and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District.
DFPA Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said this imposes certain fire restrictions on the public to help prevent wildfires. Pope said there is no change to Industrial Fire Precaution Levels within the Douglas District. IFPL levels will stay at IFPL 2.
For the public, the change means that non-industrial power saw usage, cutting, grinding or welding of metal, cutting, trimming, or mowing of dried cured grass and power-driven machinery for non-industrial improvement or development on private property is allowed all day.
Debris burning, including debris piles and burn barrels are prohibited at all times.
