A transient was jailed on trespass and assault charges on Saturday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 7:15 a.m. a victim claimed the suspect was in the trailer park in the 800 block of North Old Pacific Highway in Myrtle Creek. The 31-year-old had previously been evicted from a particular space on the property. The man left the area and walked down to the riverbank behind a nearby business.

The victim followed the man, and a physical altercation reportedly occurred. The suspect allegedly pushed the victim down a bank, causing physical injury. A deputy obtained security footage of the trespass which showed the suspect walking to and standing in a space at the trailer park.

The man was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree assault. He was detained without bail.
