The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue staff provided medical aid at Umpqua Hot Springs, off Highway 138 East on Saturday afternoon.

A DCSO report said at 4:30 p.m. a 36-year-old Grants Pass man was allegedly extremely intoxicated and passed out in the hot springs. Numerous people along with a family member had to help him out of the hot springs, before calling SAR for assistance. When a deputy arrived on the scene, the man was up and walking but reportedly very confrontational. He was given help to get out of the hot springs and taken back to the gate, where medical assistance was provided.
