An Azalea man was charged with a parole violation and unlawful possession of methamphetamine by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday night.
A DCSO report said at 9:00 p.m. a deputy stopped the 39-year-old for several traffic offenses near the intersection of Joseph Street and General Avenue, just north of Roseburg. He was found to have a suspended license and was on parole. Upon further investigation, the man was allegedly found to have a folding knife in his pocket and admitted to using methamphetamine two days prior.
His parole officer authorized a detainer. During the inventory of his vehicle, about two grams of suspected meth was located. The man admitted to possessing the meth. He was detained without bail.
