A Roseburg man was jailed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office following an alleged harassment incident on Thursday night.
A DCSO report said at 10:40 p.m. deputies responded to a disturbance in the 4000 block of Carnes Road in Green. When one of the deputies arrived, a witness called to report seeing a female attempting to crawl out of a back window and getting dragged back into the house. When the deputy approached the residence, he heard a scream from inside the house and made entry, finding the 32-year old suspect and the victim in the living room.
The report said the victim had blood on her face. She said the man had grabbed her face in the bathroom and dragged her to the floor by her hair. A witness heard the incident and ran to the door, banging on it. The suspect denied everything but didn’t have an explanation for the blood or the victim’s scream.
The man was detained without bail and was released early Friday.
