CAMAS VALLEY MAN JAILED FOR WEAPON VIOLATION

A Camas Valley man was jailed for a weapon violation on Saturday night.

A Roseburg Police report said at 10:45 p.m. officers stopped the 21-year-old for expired registration stickers in the 1400 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. When contacted, the driver informed the officer that he was suspended and had a firearm in the vehicle.

Officers asked the man to step out of the pickup and he complied. He then told officers he had another weapon concealed in his waistband. Officers seized that firearm and arrested him. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and his vehicle was released to a friend.
