United Communities AmeriCorps, Umpqua Watersheds and The City of Roseburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a river clean-up and invasive species removal event on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 15.

The organizations are hoping to bring the people together in celebration of community, nature and the joy of giving back.

Those interested in volunteering are asked to meet at the Stewart Park Pavilion in Roseburg from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizers will have trash bags, supplies, refreshments and instructions on where volunteers can help. Those planning to attend are asked to bring food, water and weather-appropriate clothing.
