The Roseburg Budget Committee recommended that the Roseburg City Council adopt the proposed budget for the 2023/2024 fiscal year, at its meeting Tuesday night.

The committee elected Mike Baker as chair and Knut Torvik as vice-chair. A public hearing was held regarding possible uses for State Revenue Sharing Funds. City staff provided presentations for all funds in the proposed budget.

That budget is $104,307,207. The committee also recommended the adoption of property taxes for the next fiscal year at the rate of $8.4774 per $1,000 of assessed value for the permanent rate tax levy.

Staff also provided an Urban Renewal budget presentation for the general fund and capital projects. The committee recommended that the council adopt the Urban Renewal Agency budget in the amount of $2,890,918.

The council will formally adopt the proposed budget at an upcoming meeting. The date of that vote has not yet been set, according to city staff.
