RPD arrests two for alleged theft at Goodwill

Two Roseburg residents were arrested on Friday after they allegedly took a significant amount of merchandise from the Goodwill location on Stewart Parkway in Roseburg.

The two suspects – a man and woman, both 32-years-old – were taken into custody at 3 p.m. after Goodwill employees and customers stopped the pair with a shopping cart and a duffel bag full of items, according to Roseburg Police.

One of the suspects, a man, allegedly grabbed a sledgehammer to hold off customers and threatened to destroy cars in the parking lot belonging to Goodwill employees.

The pair reportedly left the area after the confrontation and were found by officers at Charles Gardner Park.

The woman was cited for second degree theft and released. The man was charged with second degree robbery, second degree theft and for being a felon in possession of body armor. He is lodged at Douglas County Corrections and being held without bail.
