A Roseburg man was arrested by Sutherlin Police after he allegedly stole ice cream and ran from officers Sunday morning.
The Sutherlin Police Department says a 27-year-old man had taken ice cream and was being disorderly in the area of Central Avenue and Ponderosa Drive around 6:30 a.m. The man reportedly started to walk away when contacted by officers and ran when they attempted to arrest him.
Officers say they chased the man for a couple hundred feet before he surrendered and was taken into custody. The man was charged with third degree theft, offensive littering, resisting arrest, third degree escape and second-degree disorderly conduct.
The man was lodged in the Douglas County Jail and is being held without bail.
