Roseburg Rotary Club is unveiling the Rotary Centennial Monument Friday afternoon, but there has been a location change.
The monuments were designed and crafted as a service project of the Sutherlin High School metals and welding students, with funding from the Rotary Club and a Rotary District grant. Each of the large steel frames of the monument will hold a large steel Rotary Wheel and aluminum signs acknowledging the 100+ years of Rotary’s service to the community.
Friday’s unveiling will be at Riverside Park on Southeast Oak Avenue in downtown Roseburg. The event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Parking is located nearby in several locations. Refreshments will be available.
A second monument will be installed soon near the corner of Northwest Stewart Parkway and Northwest Edenbower Boulevard. Rotary has been in Roseburg for 101 years.
