A driver was injured in a freeway wreck on Interstate 5 Thursday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said at 2:35 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Quines Creek Road exit. The first vehicle was working behind the cones in the construction zone. It pulled out into the right-hand traffic lane and didn’t see an SUV in his blind zone. The first vehicle side swiped the second vehicle causing heavy damage to the front end of the SUV.

The second driver, a 53-year old man, was transported to Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass with minor injuries. The driver who caused the accident was warned for careless driving. The second vehicle had to be towed while the first one had minor damage.
