The South Umpqua School District has a school board vacancy.
Jeannie Weakley resigned April 14th and the board declared the position vacant on April 19th. Weakley served on the board for 14 years and cited personal reasons for her resignation.
The district is seeking candidates for the Zone 3 Position 2 seat. The applicant selected will serve through June 30, 2025, when the current term ends.
Candidates must be legally registered voters, have either a Canyonville or Myrtle Creek address and must have resided in the district for at least one year before being selected. Candidates cannot be an employee of the district.
