Covering coastal Douglas County:

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners, along with the staff at the Umpqua River Lighthouse and Douglas County Coastal History Museum have announced that they have opened a local Artisan Gallery at the facility in Winchester Bay.

The gallery is located below the museum in a newly renovated space that was once part of the original 1939 U.S. Coast Guard barracks.

Staff are seeking local artisans interested in showing their art in the gallery. Those interested in showcasing their art and joining the vibrant art scene in Winchester Bay are encouraged to contact Museum Director James Davis at 541-271-1894 or email: jmdavis@co.douglas.or.us.

The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
