COUNTY COVID-19 CASES DROP TEN PERCENT

COVID-19 cases in the county have dropped ten percent in the past week.

An update from the Douglas Public Health Network said 127 cases were reported in the week ending Wednesday. That compares to 141 cases reported in the previous week. Two COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in the last seven days. DPHN Public Information Officer Vanessa Becker said those deaths were men in their 80s and 90s.

Becker said the number of people hospitalized related to COVID-19 have ranged between 5 and 9 per day. 7 were hospitalized on Wednesday.

Since the pandemic began in January of 2020, 431 county residents have died related to COVID-19. 24,435 cases of the virus have been reported.
