Roseburg Police jailed a man for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway on Monday.

An RPD report said at 7:30 a.m. the 54-year-old was contacted at The Point in Deer Creek Park in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street where he was staying in a large camp. The camp was only 25 yards from the South Umpqua River. A large amount of trash was spread on the ground around the camp.

The man was also held for a parole violation and was cited for prohibited camping. He was detained without bail.
