AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY AND DENSE FOG ADVISORY THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING

January 18, 2022 3:50 a.m.

An Air Stagnation Advisory and a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 10:00 a.m. Tuesday for central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said visibility of less than a quarter mile is expected in dense fog, with poor air quality.

The Dense Fog Advisory includes areas along Interstate Five from Tri-City to Curtin. The Air Stagnation Advisory includes all valleys in Douglas County, including the Umpqua Basin.

Hazardous driving conditions are forecast due to low visibility. Air stagnation is likely to result in diminishing air quality, especially in and near areas with significant sources of air pollution. Diminished air quality is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory problems if precautions are not taken.
