COVID-19 CLAIMS 11 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 3,547,AS OF THURSDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 11 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 3,547, as of Thursday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 2,242 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 307,768.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 1,027, which is 40 fewer than on Wednesday. There are 286 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 8 fewer than on Wednesday.

OHA’s most recent report on COVID-19 breakthrough cases, released Thursday, found that 81.3 percent of the 14,046 reported COVID-19 cases between September 1st through September 15th occurred in people who were unvaccinated. There were 2,632 breakthrough cases, accounting for 18.7 percent of all cases.

*47 in Clatsop County

*42 each in Malheur and Polk counties

*34 in Benton County

*33 in Columbia County

*31 in Union County

*26 in Crook County

*22 in Baker County

*20 in Lincoln County

*19 in Wasco County

*14 in Harney County

*13 each in Curry and Hood River counties

*11 in Tillamook County

*10 in Jefferson County

*8 in Morrow County

*6 in Lake County

The new deaths ranged in age from 38 to 93. 7 lived in Jackson County. 1 each lived in Douglas, Josephine, Multnomah and Wallowa counties.
