BLUE ZONES INTRODUCES THRIVE UMPQUA

As Blue Zones Project enters its post-demonstration project phase, it is doing so with a new identity that staff said is more locally focused, and highly representative of the significant progress that the organization and residents of the community have made towards its goal.

A release said Blue Zones Project-Umpqua is introducing its next iteration, Thrive Umpqua.

Engagement Director Juliete Palenshus said the staff and steering committee work group spent a lot of time considering options for a new name to represent the next phase of the project. Palenshus said “…thrive is the word that kept surfacing”.

To assist in the development of the Thrive Umpqua brand, Blue Zones got help from AHM Brands, which donated the design of a new logo and assisted with name development.

The release said while the organization has a new name and logo, it will continue to operate under the same principles that have guided it to this point. The goal is to continue integrating a culture of well-being into area residents, businesses, schools and many other organizations and initiatives.

According to the Blue Zones Project organization, local efforts to reduce poor nutrition, increase exercise and improve quality of life equate to an estimated $1.5 million in medical and productive value.
