NEAR RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES EXPECTED FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Near record high temperatures are expected for the Umpqua Valley on Friday and Saturday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury should reach 91 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Friday. The record high for the date is 94 degrees, set in 1931. 88 degrees is forecast for Saturday in Roseburg. The record for May 11th is 91 degrees, also set in 1931.

Thursday’s high in Roseburg was 82 degrees. That was well below the record high for May 9th, which was 91 degrees, set in 2019.

Sunday should drop to the low 80’s before the highs falls to the mid 70’s for most of next week.
