BALLOTS COMING IN SLOWLY FOR THE 2024 MAY PRIMARY ELECTION

Ballots are coming in slowly for the 2024 May Presidential Primary Election in Douglas County.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said 3.52 percent, or 3,152 ballots have been received in the county as of late Thursday. Loomis said that lags 6.61 percent behind the participation rate for the same point in the 2020 Primary.

Loomis said voters should ensure they read the Voter’s Statement, which they are attesting to when they sign their ballot return envelope. No one else can sign the ballot return envelope on behalf of a voter, even if there is a power of attorney in place. The ballot will not be counted without the voter’s verified signature on the ballot return envelope.
