COVID-19 CLAIMS 5 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL TO 2.877, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 5 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,877, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 1,213 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 224,547. The new cases include:

*149 in Jackson County

*140 in Multnomah County

*111 in Lane County

*107 in Clackamas County

*89 in Washington County

*86 in Umatilla County

*84 in Marion County

*78 in Douglas County

*54 in Josephine County

*34 in Coos County

*33 in Deschutes County

*30 in Polk County

*28 in Linn County

*23 in Yamhill County

*19 each in Benton and Lincoln counties

*15 each in Baker, Tillamook and Union counties

*13 in Columbia County

*12 in Crook County

*11 in Wasco County

*10 each in Curry and Malheur counties

*7 in Morrow County

*5 in Klamath County

*4 in Clatsop County

*3 each in Jefferson and Wallowa counties *2 in Harney County

*1 in Gilliam County

The new deaths ranged in age from 43 to 86. 1 each lived in Douglas, Jackson, Coos, Clatsop and Lane counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 422, which is 43 more than on Tuesday. There are 133 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 14 more than on Tuesday.

OHA reported that 6,998 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to state immunization registry. Of that total, 3,898 doses were administered on Tuesday. 3,100 were administered on previous days, but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.
