COVID-19 CLAIMS 6 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,843, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 6 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,843, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 804 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 217,690. The new cases include:

*91 in Jackson County

*80 in Multnomah County

*67 in Lane County

*59 each in Marion and Washington counties

*55 in Umatilla County

*54 in Josephine County

*50 in Douglas County

*44 in Clackamas County

*43 in Deschutes County

*38 in Linn County

*19 each in Baker and Union counties

*16 in Yamhill County

*13 in Benton County

*12 in Polk County

*10 in Columbia County

*8 in Coos County

*7 each in Jefferson and Wallowa counties

*6 in Crook County

*5 each in Curry, Lincoln and Wasco counties

*4 in Sherman County

*2 in Hood River County

*1 each in Grant and Wheeler counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 33 to 99. 2 each lived in Jackson and Washington counties. 1 each lived in Lane and Umatilla counties

OHA said the total number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 274, which is 15 more than on Tuesday. There are 86 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 9 more than on Tuesday.

OHA reported that 5,499 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 2,981 doses were administered on Tuesday. 2,518 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.
