An Excessive Heat Warning for dangerously hot conditions remains in effect from 11:00 a.m. Saturday to 11:00 p.m. Tuesday for southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said improvement in conditions at mid-week will be slight so the duration of this record-breaking heat will also be impactful. The hottest temperatures in west side valleys are expected to range from 105 degrees to 115 degrees on Sunday.
Forecasters said the extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. The high daytime temperatures combined with warm overnight lows will result in high heat risk and heat related stress. Some daily record temperatures will be broken. High temperature records for June are likely to be set and there is a chance to set all-time highs for any date.
An Excessive Heat Warning is in place in northern Oregon from Saturday morning through 11:00 p.m. Monday.
