COVID-19 CLAIMS 2 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,759, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 2 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,759, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 233 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 207,333. The new cases include:

*29 in Marion County

*27 in Multnomah County

*18 in Jackson County

*14 each in Clackamas, Deschutes and Linn counties

*13 in Lane County

*12 in Washington County

*11 in Douglas County

*10 in Wasco County

*8 each in Coos and Polk counties

*7 in Baker and Umatilla counties

*6 in Josephine County

*5 Curry County

*4 each in Benton, Jefferson and Yamhill counties

*3 each in Columbia, Crook and Lincoln counties

*2 each in Harney, Malheur and Morrow counties

*1 each in Grant, Hood River and Union counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 27 to 67. 1 lived in Lane county and 1 lived in Marion County.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 155, which is 9 more than on Tuesday. There are 34 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 1 fewer than on Tuesday.

OHA reported that 8,306 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 4,465 doses were administered on Tuesday and 3,841 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.
