Ballots for the Douglas County 2021 Special Districts Election have gone out to voters.

County Clerk Daniel Loomis said registered voters who haven’t received their ballot by this Friday, should contact or visit the Clerk’s Office.

Loomis said voters have until Monday May 10th to utilize the U.S. mail to cast their ballot. After that, voters should use one of the 15 drop sites located around the county, to turn their ballot in. 2 new drive-up locations have been added with boxes now in the parking lot of the Roseburg Bi-Mart and near the Umpqua Community College administration building.

Loomis said voters should remember to review and complete both sides of the ballot, and to sign the ballot envelope.

As of Monday, 655 ballots had been turned in. The number of voters in the county has increased by 8.7 percent since the 2019 Special Districts Election. Participation rates for the 2019 and 2017 Special Districts elections were around 19 percent.

Ballots must be returned by 8:00 p.m. on May 18th
