WIND ADVISORY FOR TUESDAY

A Wind Advisory is in effect on Tuesday for parts of central Douglas County and surrounding areas.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said south winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour are expected. The Advisory area includes the higher terrain of the Umpqua Divide in southern Douglas County and northern Josephine County. Higher terrain in eastern Curry County is included as well.

Gusty winds could blow unsecured objects around. Tree limbs could be blown down with a few power outages possibly resulting.

The Advisory runs Tuesday from 1:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

A High Wind Warning is in place for the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, including Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. Winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 80 miles per hour are forecast. The Warning is in effect from 10:00 p.m. Monday through 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
