MAN JAILED AFTER STORE INCIDENT

A Roseburg man was jailed following a store incident early Sunday.

A report from the Roseburg Police said at about 3:15 a.m. a loss-prevention employee at Sherm’s Thunderbird on Stewart Parkway, allegedly saw Jason Cornutt taking produce from the outdoor area of the store. The report said the employee attempted to stop the suspect and get the produce back.

The 35-year old allegedly tried to hit the employee but missed and they both ended up on the ground. The suspect reportedly pinned the employee down. Other store employees responded to assist until the police arrived.

Cornnutt was held on charges of third-degree counts of robbery and theft, and for harassment. Bail was set at $53,750.
