Deputies and Search and Rescue crews are looking for a reported vehicle crash which was relayed via CB radio on Thursday morning.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just before 9:15 a.m. the 911 center received a report from an individual who overheard a distress call on CB radio channel 17. The male making the report stated that he and his wife had been involved in a vehicle crash on Thunder Mountain and were in need of medical help. The caller told dispatchers he was near Tyee when heard the call. O’Dell said there was no further information to assist dispatchers.
O’Dell said searchers are in the Thunder Mountain area southeast of Glide looking for signs of a vehicle crash, and have yet to locate anything. There are no other known locations within the county referred to as Thunder Mountain.
O’Dell said anyone who overhead the radio traffic or has concerns about missing or overdue individuals is asked to call DCSO at 440-4471.
The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Oregon State Police, Bureau of Land Management Enforcement and the Douglas Forest Protective Association.
