COVID-19 has claimed no new lives, with the state’s death toll remaining at 148 as of Wednesday.
An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 71 new and presumptive cases bringing the state total to 4,038. The new confirmed and presumptive cases include:
*41 in Multnomah County
*6 in Marion County
*5 each in Jackson and Washington counties
*4 in Clackamas County
*2 each in Lake, Lincoln, Polk and Wasco counties
*1 each in Hood River and Yamhill counties
The update said OHA and local county health authorities are investigating an increase in COVID-19 cases tied to an outbreak at specific locations of a business that operates in the tri-county region and the Willamette Valley. At this time, there is no indication that the outbreak at these locations poses any significant risk to surrounding communities.
OHA expects more positive test results to be included in the state’s case totals over the next few days as test results are completed. More details about the outbreak, including location information, will be made available in coming days.
