Umpqua Health Alliance announced on Friday that the Oregon Health Authority has awarded UHA the full five-year 2020-2024 Oregon Health Plan contract for Douglas County.
Kat Cooper from UHA said the organization was previously awarded a provisional one-year contract, but has provided further information and documentation to UHA to demonstrate UHA’s ability to meet all CCO 2.0 requirements.
Cooper said throughout the entire CCO 2.0 process, UHA submitted more than 2,000 pages of documentation to OHA. That included work for the first phase of a readiness review process, where UHA received complete ratings in 87 of the 93 elements and was rated progress sufficient to start operations in the other six elements, getting the second highest score in the state.
Umpqua Health CEO Brent Eichmann said “we are thrilled with this announcement”. He said UHA has “consistently performed at the top tier on quality metrics set by the state and achieved improved health outcomes”. He said the organization is proud of what UHA has achieved since 2012, and “are excited to further our work with community partners to serve Douglas County through the triple aim of better care, better health and lower costs”.
Cooper said UHA has provided integrated physical, behavioral, and oral care to more than 26,000 Douglas County residents on the Oregon Health Plan for the last five years as one of the state’s contracted coordinated care organizations. Its provider network includes physicians, nurse practitioners, specialists and subspecialists, behavioral health and drug addiction counselors, dentists, and optometrists in Douglas County.
