HEAT ADVISORY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT

July 27, 2022 3:00 p.m.

A Heat Advisory is still in effect through 11:00 p.m. Friday for central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said high temperatures continue to range between 90 and 100 degrees. Overnight lows remain warmer, between 60 and 65 degrees. Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur.

Forecasters say residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.

Those who work or spend time outside should take extra precautions. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
