Congressman Peter DeFazio has tested positive for COVID-19.

Thursday evening the 4th District Democrat released a statement that said, “I tested positive today for COVID-19. Thanks to being fully vaccinated, I am only experiencing mild cold-like symptoms and fatigue. I will follow CDC guidelines and quarantine. I encourage everyone to get vaccinated”.

DeFazio joins a rash of Washington D.C. officials who have tested positive for the virus this week. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senator Susan Collins of Maine, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, and Vice-President Kamala Harris’s Communications Director Jamal Simmons are among those testing positive.
