PacifiCorp is offering its annual guided tour of the North Umpqua Hydroelectric Project to the public next month.

A release from the utility said that for 20 years PacifiCorp has welcomed the public to view the North Umpqua Hydroelectric Project, located an hour outside of Roseburg. This year’s two-hour guided tour is taking place from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 7 and will bring the public up close to the Soda Springs Dam and powerhouse, fish passage facilities and salmon spawning areas.

Close-toed shoes are required for the tour, and hard hats will be provided. The tour will meet at the North Umpqua Implementation Center in Idleyld on the day of the event.
