A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 12:00 p.m. Monday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said wet snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected with west-southwest wind with gusts of 30 to 50 miles per hour in exposed areas such as across ridges, peaks and passes.
The Advisory area includes the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and the Siskiyou Mountains including Diamond Lake.
Forecasters said drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility at times, especially in exposed areas. Gusty winds combined with wet snow could bring down tree branches.
A period of heavy snow with snowfall rates of an inch per hour or greater is expected Monday morning. Snow will likely continue into the afternoon, but road temperatures will warm and impacts to roadways should lessen.
