Search and Rescue teams from Douglas and Lane counties are actively looking for a man from Drain who was reported as missing on Tuesday afternoon.

Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said 52-year-old Jeffery Alan Hawks lives on Upper Smith River Road and works at Murphy Plywood in Eugene. Tuesday Hawks brother and law, who works at the same business, called the man’s wife to say that Hawks hadn’t shown up for work in two days. The man and woman live apart, and the wife had last heard from Hawks by text on Sunday.

The report said the man’s phone goes straight to voicemail, and he left a large amount of food and water for his dog at home. No note or anything suspicious was found at Hawk’s residence. His wife has been looking for him in the Eugene area. At this time, his last known location was at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, leaving his place of employment in Eugene.
