AIR QUALITY ALERT UNTIL LATE MONDAY MORNING

July 10, 2021 2:30 p.m.

An Air Quality Alert is in effect until Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. for central Douglas County and surrounding areas.

An update from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality said high concentrations of smoke particulates from the Jack and Bootleg fires are impacting the region.

The update said smoke can irritate the eyes, lungs and can worsen some medical conditions. People most at risk for adverse health effects include infants, young children, people with heart or lung disease, older adults and pregnant women.
